On Sunday, March 8, Avery Vanderford was crowned Magee’s 2026 Miss Hospitality. She received the title from Magee’s 2025 Miss Hospitality, Natalie Styron.
Avery is the 18-year-old daughter of Doug and Staci Moody and Phil Vanderford. A graduate of Simpson County Academy, she currently attends Copiah-Lincoln Community College and plans to attend Mississippi State in the fall, where she will major in integrated digital marketing.
In high school, Avery was recognized as a Mississippi Scholar and was a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Magee Mayor’s Youth Council, and Simpson County Future Leaders. She was also active as a Varsity Cheerleader, MAIS All-Star and All-American Cheerleader, Diamond Doll, and a member of God’s Girls. In addition, she participated on the softball team, served as basketball team manager, and volunteered with the Magee SportsPlex and Seasons of Service.
At Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Avery has continued her academic involvement as a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the Alpha Omega Science Club.
Throughout the coming year, Avery will represent the City of Magee at local events and ribbon-cutting ceremonies. This summer, she will compete in the state Miss Hospitality program, with the final rounds scheduled for July 17–18 in Hattiesburg.
