The Simpson Academy Cougars take the field for their homecoming matchup against Riverfield Academy. The Cougars dominated the Raiders winning the game 42-6. The Cougars have improved to a 6-2 overall record.

Cougars put on a show for Riverfield at Homecoming

The SCA Cougars had Homecoming last Friday night and in front of an extremely large crowd, the boys from Simpson County put on yet another show. This time the Cougars welcomed Riverfield Academy from Louisiana to “The Hole,” where the Cougars were rude hosts.

The SCA Cougars honored a former Cougar that recently passed away, Corbin Hosey during their home game last Friday night against Madison St. Joe. The Cougars defeated the Bruins 43-6.

Finally! SCA’s Cougar football team played its first home game of the year last Friday night, and what a way to start the home portion of the schedule! The Cougars hosted Madison St. Joe ,and the Cougars were not very hospitable to the Bruins of Madison County.

Happenings at the state Capitol

We are starting to see a little light at the end of tunnel as we head into March and the final one third of the 2022 session. We have finished the process of passing Senate bills and sending them over to the House and vice versa. Last week we had committee meetings where we took up bills from the House.

Caughman big on passing Fairness Act

We are moving deep into the 2021 session as this past week we had floor debate on House bills sent over to us from the other side of the hallway. Many of these bills are companion bills that we have passed on the Senate side and just were formality in getting passage.
