The Mendenhall Mayor and Board of Aldermen approved several proposals at their last meeting.
They approved advertising for the municipal depository for the 2025-2026 calendar year and approved Mayor Todd Booth to sign an interlocal agreement with the Simpson County School District for the use of the baseball field at the city park.
The board approved City Clerk Latasha Millis to attend the winter conference and approved all board minutes and financial statements for November. Payments were authorized to Griner Drilling Services for the installation of well motors for the water system. Payments were also authorized to M & M Electric for generator panel repairs and the installation of a motor at the city lagoon.
Public hearings were held for five properties.
The board authorized the hire of Allen Moore, Emanuel Thurman, and Pat Walker as part-time officers with the Mendenhall Police department. They also accepted three resignations in the Public Works Department. Kevon Davis was approved for a status and salary change from mechanic to assistant city superintendent. Joel Westbrook was also moved from the grass crew to the Water Department.
The board approved Mayor Booth and City Superintendent Kenneth Lewis to attend a vehicle auction to purchase two city trucks for a total price of up to $40,000. The board entered executive session to discuss personnel before adjourning.
