Update: The SCSO has released the names of two victims involved in the shooting. The 19 year old male has been identified as Datavion Fairley. The victim who sustained non-life threatening injuries has been identified as Jarvis Lofton.
Sheriff Paul Mullins confirmed that the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Boswell Lofton Road at approximately 3:24 a.m. Monday morning.
Mullins said when deputies arrived they found one male subject deceased and two others had been shot. He said one victim had sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital in his personally owned vehicle. According to Mullins, the other gunshot victim was transported by ambulance to Magee General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Officials have not released the names of the victims and are working to notify the next of kin. The two victims who died in the incident were described as two African American males ages 17 and 19 years old.
Mullins said the investigation is ongoing and that the SCSO is continuing to gather evidence. No arrests have been made at this time. This story will be updated as new information becomes available.
