Like all other public colleges in Mississippi, Copiah Lincoln Community College Simpson County Center spring semester classes will be completed online.
In addition, summer courses will be available online only.
And while local high schools continue to grapple with the topic of graduation, all three Co-Lin campuses will hold spring graduation August 4, 2020, at the Wesson Campus, according to Dr. Dwayne Middleton, vice president of the Simpson County Center. Specific details will be released at a later date.
Since the school campus remains closed Dr. Middleton explained the registration process for current and new students. “We are in the process of enrolling students for summer and fall classes. All current students should check Canvas for information from their advisor regarding registration. Any new students that need assistance with getting their schedule completed can email Dr. Anika Floyd at anika.floyd@colin.edu or Mrs. Nicole Cheramie at nicole.cheramie@colin.edu, or can call 601-849-0124.”
Four terms are available for online classes beginning with Maymester, May 18 – 29; summer I Term, June 1 – 25; Summer II Term, July 6 – 30; and Career Term May 18 – July 24. Fall 2020 Term begins Monday, August 24, 2020.
Construction of the Simpson County Center Career Technology Building continues. It will house the Automation and Control Program, Early Childhood Education Technology Program and with the new Welding Program. “The May 8th Ribbon Cutting Ceremony has been postponed and more details will be shared at a later date,” Dr. Middleton stated. However, students interested in these programs are urged to make application now.
At this point no decision has been made as to when employees will return to the campus or its reopening. “We are all working hard to ensure a smooth transition for our students and looking forward to welcoming the students back in the Fall,”
