Harrisville kicked-off their version of the Simpson County’s Bicentennial last Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. by hosting a “History of the Harrisville Ball Field” honoring a special guest.
Marcelle Morris was on the original 1940’s baseball team. Keynote speaker was Ken Barlow.
That afternoon participants were treated to the sounds of The ‘Ville Kids, a band from Harrisville Baptist Church, along with the tunes of Ken Barlow, Eric Dear and Edmond Berry.
In addition visitors could enjoy games and food available along with a museum to view a variety of historical artifacts from Harrisville’s rich history.
The event was well attended by a large crowd and wrapped up at 3 p.m.
