Congratulations to Nicole Sandifer on signing a scholarship to join Grambling State University Women’s Basketball team as a guard. Grambling Head Coach Courtney Simmons released a statement and expressed her enthusiasm for the newest addition to the team, stating, "I am thrilled to officially welcome Nicole to the GramFam. She embodies the qualities I seek both on and off the court, and she seamlessly aligns with our team culture. Nicole is exceptionally athletic, and I believe she has untapped potential that will significantly contribute to our program's success. The foundation of our program is shaping up beautifully with promising young talents like Nicole and current freshman guard Arianna Mosley."
Sandifer discussed the recruiting process and said Grambling was her clear choice after prayer and consulting with her family and coaches. Sandifer is excited for the upcoming opportunity and plans to continue building on the fundamental principle that has led to her success, hard work.
Magee Girl’s Head Coach Kendria Young said, “She’s probably one of the hardest working kids I’ve ever met. She lives in the gym and she keeps me in the gym… That’s the thing that sets her apart from anybody I’ve ever coached.”
Young said, “As far as maturity earning her respect for the game and learning respect for the game, and doing it the right way. I can honestly say she embodies what this program is about.”
Sandifer is excited about her opportunity to play at Grambling State University and is looking forward to her senior season as a Magee Trojan.
