Danny Craft and Charlie Westmoreland received the Republican nominations for Supervisor District 2 and Supervisor District 5, respectively, according to unofficial elections results for the primary runoff.
Craft faced David Johnson in a tightly contested race. Of the 784 ballots cast for the post, Craft received 446 compared to 336 for Johnson. Craft will face Democratic opponent Anthony J. Smith Jr. in the November general election.
Charlie Westmoreland defeated Daniel Ferguson in the Republican primary runoff for Supervisor District 5. A total of 836 ballots were cast, with 475 for Westmoreland and 360 for Ferguson. Westmoreland will face Democratic opponent Reggie McLaurin Sr. in the November general election.
Many of the local offices have been decided in the primaries. Local offices for Supervisor District 2, Supervisor District 5, Justice Court Judge Post 1, Justice Court Judge Post 2, and Chancery Clerk will be contested in the general election.
Danny Craft will face Anthony J. Smith Jr. for Supervisor District 2 and Charlie Westmoreland will face Reggie McLaurin Sr. for Supervisor District 5. Brian Kennedy and Lori King will vie for Justice Court Judge Post 1, and Charles Savell will face Jason Bowen for Justice Court Judge Post 2. The Chancery Clerk race will be between Tim Gray and Tameika Smith.
