Bill Parker, Meteorologist in Charge with the National Weather Service in Jackson, Miss., with Logan Poole, staff meteorologist, presented a plaque and signage to the Magee Mayor and Board of Aldermen on August 6 recognizing Magee/Simpson County as Storm Ready. Magee is one of seven communities so designated in the state. The designation is in place through August 6, 2028. Present were, frin left, front row, Parker, Zoning Director Penny Aguirre, and Poole; back row, Sue Honea, Lawana Thompson, Mark Grubbs, Mayor Dale Berry, Sammie Tebo and Patrick Brown.
