Two people were injured in a shooting late Saturday night in Mendenhall near Dixie Avenue, according to local authorities.
At approximately 11:24 p.m. on August 2, Mendenhall Police responded to a call reporting shots fired. Lt. Charles Sherman reported that officers arrived on the scene and began investigating the incident, which is believed to have stemmed from a fight, according to witness testimony.
Two individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One was hospitalized for an abrasion, and the other was grazed by a bullet. Both were treated and released. No serious injuries were reported.
“This type of behavior will not be tolerated in the city of Mendenhall,” Lt. Sherman said. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”
The incident remains under investigation.
