Stolen church property found

By MARLAN JONES,

Sheriff Donald O’Cain reported that the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department recovered stolen property last week. The property was stolen from Magee United Pentecostal Church located on Highway 28 East. Investigator Chris Wallace explained that the church was burglarized on August 28. Sound equipment including speakers, microphones, and amplifiers were taken. On September 1 some of the property was recovered from a nearby residence. The remainder of the stolen goods was recovered on Friday, September 7, in another county. Wallace said that one arrest has been made, but the identity of the suspect was not released due to his being a minor. Wallace said the investigation is ongoing and other arrests are pending.
