The Mendenhall Tigers played a tough game against the Forest Bearcats last Friday that ended in a 0-13 loss.
The Tigers competed well on defense, holding the Bearcats well below their average of 41 points a game. Linebacker Princeton Miller played an outstanding game to help set the tone early on defense.
The Tigers trailed 7-0 at halftime and had some opportunities on offense that they failed to capitalize on. The team was able to move the ball within the red zone a few times before drives stalled due to unfortunate mistakes. The Tigers were able to run the ball effectively and make timely passes but struggled to put it all together in scoring distance.
The final score was 0-13 as the team fell to 2-3 on the season and 0-1 in district play. As a youg team, the Tigers are still searching for their identity on offense. The future is bright, though, as the team continues to work and build some confidence and consistency. This will come with more experience.
They will have another opportunity this Friday on the road against Morton. Morton is 4-2 and coming off a 56-14 loss to Quitman.
